Governor's Pheasant Opener Comes To Marshall

The second annual Governor's Pheasant Hunting Opener is coming to Marshall tomorrow night. Governor Mark Dayton arrives in Marshall tomorrow for the Pheasant Hunting Opener.

Marshall Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Cal Brink says Dayton's visit isn't about politics.

"It is really going to be more about what hunting does for Minnesota," said Brink.  "In our case, it will be about how good the pheasant hunting is in the southwestern part of Minnesota, and they will help us exploit that so we can bring more trade dollars into Marshall and the area communities."

Brink added that the Marshall area has some of the best pheasant hunting in the whole state.

The Governor's visit will include a banquet at the Conference Center at Southwest Minnesota State University, and hunting on Saturday, on public land just outside of Marshall.
