Clarkfield Shooting Connected To Found Remains In Eastern SD
(Clarkfield) - Details are emerging about a shooting that happened while a Clarkfield woman was being questioned about two dead newborns found in eastern South Dakota.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension says the incient happened Tuesday as members of the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation and a Brookings, South Dakota police officer were questioning the 34-year-old woman about the remains of two newborns found November 2nd, in a rural shelterbelt near Astoria, South Dakota, when she pulled out a gun and pointed it at herself.
One of the agents and the officer struggled with the woman. Authorities say the gun discharged, but no one was hurt.
The BCA says the woman has not been charged. Authorities are continuing to evaluate possible charges.
